Rosie O’Donnell’s ex-wife found dead in apparent suicide

Rosie O’Donnell’s ex-wife, Michelle Rounds, has died of an apparent suicide.

Rounds, 46, was found in her home after taking her own life on Monday.

O’Donnell and Rounds, had one child together and split in 2014 and divorced two years later. Rosie has released a statement on the tragedy.

“I am saddened to hear about this terrible tragedy,” she said.

“Mental illness is a very serious issue affecting many families. My thoughts and prayers go out to Michelle’s family, her wife Krista and their child,” said the comedian.

Rounds mother has asked people to donate to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline in her daughter’s name.

“If anyone would like to give …. it would also be greatly appreciated,” she said.

“There are so many out there in this world that have demons that they think suicide is the only way out,” the grieving mother went on.

Rounds was taken to the hospital after an attempted overdose in 2015. She lived in Florida with her new wife and their adopted daughter.

Her obituary read that she was “a very loving, giving and caring individual who would help anyone in their time of need.”
