Although Mariah Carey‘s reality show Mariah’s World won’t be returning for a new season, Carey is still set to stay in the reality show business with a new behind-the-scenes docu series from VH1.

According to PageSix, Carey plans to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of her album Butterfly by going on a world tour, and VH1 will be there to film behind the scenes the whole time.

“‘Mariah’s World’ was always planned to be an eight-part TV event. But now she is planning a huge world tour to celebrate the 20th anniversary of ‘Butterfly’ to start early 2018. It will be similar to U2’s ‘Joshua Tree’ tour. VH1 is set to film a docuseries that will capture the behind-the-scenes of her tour,” an insider told PageSix.

While Mariah insiders insisted that the show was always supposed to be eight episodes, other TV insiders said that it was low ratings that killed “Mariah’s World.”

“The show opened as one of E!’s top-rated premieres ever and then dipped drastically in episode 2. If the show did well, they would’ve definitely ordered more episodes,” one insider said.

In the meantime, Carey is gearing up for a big world tour and is even bringing back her Christmas shows, complete with a new Christmas single. She is also set to return to Las Vegas for another residency.
