Byron Allen has been working both on screen and behind the scenes in the entertainment industry for decades.
Born in 1961 in Detroit, Allen put together his first stand-up routine at the age of 14. By age 18, he was performing on “The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson,” and he really came into his own with “Kickin’ It with Byron Allen,” a show that featured interviews and celebrity updates.
Then, he launched Entertainment Studios, where he continued to be a force for Black entertainment behind the scenes. He also launched six 24-hour HD television networks in 2009.
