George H.W. Bush blasts Trump in new book: ‘I don’t like him’

Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

A new book by Mark K. Updegrove, shows where George H.W. Bush stands when it comes to Trump and it’s not favorable. This, despite standard etiquette among former presidents in which they generally refrain from speaking ill of one another.

In May 2016, Bush stated, “I don’t like him” and “I don’t know much about him, but I know he’s a blowhard. And I’m not too excited about him being a leader.”

He went on to say that the current president is driven by a “certain ego” rather than civic duty. His son and also a former president, George W. Bush also has a low opinion of Trump, saying Trump “fans public anger and came to office without any understanding of the job.”

The book is titled The Last Republicans and in it, Updegrove takes a look at what is now seen as the bygone era of the GOP establishment.

Harper Collins says this about the book, it “tracks the two Bush presidents from their formative years through their post-presidencies and the failed presidential candidacy of Jeb Bush, derailing the Bush presidential dynasty.”

This is the first time we get to see what influenced the two former presidents, how they feel about each other’s presidencies, the US’s role in the world, the Republican party, as well as their true feelings about Donald Trump.
