Tracee Ellis Ross is on fire this week. First, she launched her holiday fashion line with JCPenny and next she will be hosting the American Music Awards on Sunday.

At the awards show the Black-ish star’s mother, Diana Ross, will be receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award and Tracee plans to honor her mom in high style.

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Tracee said, “There will definitely be a lot of nods to my mom. There will be one special moment I actually get to bring out the nostalgia of a particular piece of clothing.” Exciting, right?

Tracee goes on to say that her mother, who is an icon, had had a huge impact on her fashion choices over the years. She says she often finds herself emulating Diana without even trying to.

“As we have seen through my career, just about everything I wear is paying tribute to my mom,” said Tracee. “Her style influenced me in such a major way that I can’t help it. Sometimes I’m thinking I’m doing something so original and then I’ll see pictures of my mom and I’m like, ‘Oh.’ Basically, I just copied an outfit of my mom.”
