Former NFL wide receiver Terry Glenn is dead at 43 following a fatal car crash on Monday morning in Irving, Texas.
According to Fort-Worth Star Telegram, a member of Irving’s fire department confirmed the crash.
Glenn, who officially retired in 2008 with the Dallas Cowboys, played for Patriots and Packers throughout his 12-year career with the NFL. He leaves behind his fiancée and five children.
While with the Patriots, Glenn most notably caught Tom Brady’s first touchdown pass in 2001. He finished his career with 593 total catches for 8,823 yards and 44 touchdowns, and had over 1,000 receiving yards four times.
Former Jets star Damien Woody, who played with Glenn in New England, took to Twitter upon hearing the tragic news.
“Man…#RIP to my former teammate Terry Glenn, who passed away this morning due to a car accident. Praying for his family,” he tweeted.
