Fox News mistakenly notes passing of President Jimmy Carter

On Sunday, Fox News wrongly stated that former president Jimmy Carter was dead.

On their website, Fox was extolling George H. W. Bush for becoming the longest-lived former commander-in-chief in history when they started making comparisons to other previous presidents’ ages.

“Bush, 93 years and 166 days old, outlasted the previous oldest president, Gerald Ford, who passed away at 93 and 165 days,” the article said, noting also that, “Ronald Reagan and Jimmy Carter also died at 93.”

The only problem? Carter is still alive. He even has a book signing scheduled for December 4 in Atlanta, according to the AJC.

The Fox News article has since been updated, with no mention of Carter being dead.
