Floyd Mayweather isn’t here for his ex-girlfriend allegedly helping herself to a shopping spree on his dime.
The boxing champion is now suing his ex-girlfriend, Shantel Jackson, for theft.
According to Mayweather, Jackson used his personal credit cards as well as cash that she gathered around his place, in order to go on spending sprees for herself. She kept him from knowing about the retail therapy, he says, because she would have the items shipped somewhere else.
Mayweather also claimed that he didn’t suspect anything because Jackson had put on such a public face of loyalty to him, defending him against bad press to the public.
“As a result of that confidence, Mayweather, who’s education ended at eighth grade, did not audit or otherwise inspect either his cash or his credit card statements for theft by Jackson,” the lawsuit reads, though Mayweather’s reps noted that the lawyers were wrong and that he had an education through the 12th grade.
Eventually, Mayweather found out about the spending sprees when a friend told him that Jackson was bragging about them.
Now, Mayweather is suing Jackson for theft for an unspecified amount.
