Mented Cosmetics developed a cosmetics line perfect for all pigments

Before Fenty Beauty hit the market, Harvard Business School grads KJ Miller and Amanda E. Johnson, founded Mented Cosmetics (short for pigmented), a cosmetics collection specifically crafted with black women in mind.

In a beauty market that fails to see “us,” they continue to challenge normal beauty standards by letting it be known that black is beautiful. And the message has been well received. So much so, that the ladies of Mented also became the 15th and 16th African-American women ever to raise $1 million in venture capital to grow their business.
