A perfect mother-daughter trip in the Buick Enclave Avenir

The holidays are my favorite time of year.

It’s the one time of year that everyone seems to slow down, clear their schedules, and come together for what’s really important.

Last year, I decided to do something different and traveled internationally during Thanksgiving. Though wandering through Italy was extremely liberating and a fun option for the holidays, it made me miss out on quality moments such as spending time with my (somewhat) crazy family.

This year, I decided to make up for it.

My mom, sister, niece and I decided to spend some “girl time” while together over the Thanksgiving holiday. We chose the Berkshires in Massachusetts as our destination. We envisioned a weekend of wellness, spa treatments and quality time.

The 2018 Buick Enclave Avenir was the perfect vehicle to get us there.

I got behind the wheel of the new SUV the morning before Thanksgiving. I was immediately impressed by how beautiful the vehicle looked from the outside. Before we all hit the road, I took some time to get acclimated.

We awoke the day after Thanksgiving still full of happiness and finally ready to begin our trip.

We were headed to Canyon Ranch, a luxurious spa oasis nestled in the Berkshires and about a three-hour drive from New York City. The Enclave Avenir had plenty of space for us and ample room for all of our belongings.

As the trip progressed, I found the SUV to be great on gas mileage. There are three rows of seating, which are all power adjustable, heated and cooled and excellent for the highway.

There’s also plenty of space in every direction.

4G LTE and Wi-Fi come standard in the Buick Enclave. As someone who typically uses her phone for directions, I made a point to use the system’s navigation system for our ride through the mountains, because I knew my cell phone’s service would go in and out.

Inputting the destination was quick and painless, and the route was fairly straightforward. A yellow line showed you exactly where to go on the map in addition to the verbal cues, which I found to be timely and helpful. In one instance, we used the feature to connect to the Waze app, which directed us out of traffic during our journey.

The car is loaded with tons of tech features. Besides the 4G LTE™ Wi-Fi Powered by OnStar® (for up to 7 devices), the BOSE speakers, and the navigation system, the dual moon-roof option was also a big hit for us ladies.

Overall, the 2018 Buick Enclave Avenir was a great road trip vehicle for four women looking for a little bit of luxury and a quick escape from New York City life. The ride was plush and comfortable. As a family, we were sad when it was time to say goodbye to the vehicle (especially since I recently got rid of my own!).
