The 2018 Golden Globes nominations have been revealed and this year’s list turned up some surprising results.

While there are a few black actors who scored nominations in major categories, other parts of the list are still pretty light on diversity.

When it comes to the big screen, Denzel Washington is up for Best Actor for his role in Roman J. Israel, Esq.

Mudbound was shut out of the Best Picture race but Mary J. Blige earned her first nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the film and her song, “Mighty River” is up for Best Song. Octavia Spencer is nominated for Best Supporting Actress for The Shape of Water.

Daniel Kaluuya scored a nod for Best Actor in a musical or comedy for Get Out, but Jordan Peele was shut out of the race for Best Director.

On the television side, Issa Rae is nominated for Best Actress for Insecure but the show was largely ignored in other categories, like Best Comedy.

Anthony Anderson and Sterling K. Brown will vie for Best Actor titles in the comedy and drama categories. black-ish is up for Best Comedy series and This Is Us will compete in the Best Drama race once again.

The 75th Golden Globes will air January 7 on NBC.
