George Zimmerman threatened to “handle” JAY-Z this weekend over a documentary about the late Trayvon Martin.
JAY-Z is working on a six-part docu-series called “Rest in Power: The Trayvon Martin Story.”
The documentary also looks at Zimmerman’s trial and acquittal. At the time, the controversial trial invoked the problems with Stand Your Ground laws, and sparked a national debate on self-defense and the role that race plays in such laws.
Zimmerman has never apologized for what happened in 2012. What’s more, he has continued to make headlines with outrageous behavior.
Most recently, he threatened JAY-Z over the docu-series.
Claims of unfair treatment
Zimmerman complained about the docu-series and claimed his family was treated unfairly.
What’s more, he said his parents and uncle had been visited by the crew without warning, and that JAY-Z and executive producer Michael Gesparro indirectly “harassed” his family.
Additionally, Zimmerman complained that his ex-wife had been paid for her part in the project, while his parents and family members had not.
The threat and response
Because of the so-called unfair treatment, hey says, Zimmerman has made JAY-Z his public enemy number one.
“I know how to handle people who f–k with me,” Zimmerman said on Saturday.
The unrepentant Zimmerman also added, in a flagrant show of disrespect, “I have since February 2012″–an obvious reference to the fatal shooting of Trayvon.
What’s more, Zimmerman said that Gesparro and JAY-Z would be held accountable for their actions and that “anyone who f—s with my parents will be fed to an alligator.”
While JAY-Z took the high road and decided not to respond to Zimmerman, some of his friends and supporters came to his defense, including Snoop Dogg.
“If one hair on jays hair is touched that’s when the revolution will b televised,” Snoop Dogg wrote on Instagram. “We one, and to thank the system, let the Bitch ass muthaf–a get away with murder try it again. Trayvon Martin Gone but not forgotten.”
