FIRST LOOK: Meet the crazy cast members of ‘Love & Hip Hop: Miami’

Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

New year, new drama.

Love & Hip Hop: Miami is about to take over the small screen when it premieres on New Year’s Day and by the looks of the super trailer, we’re in for a wild ride.

The show will give viewers an inside look at the “real (305)” and we’ll watch this crazy cast hit up strip clubs, nightclubs and studios as they navigate their careers and love lives in front of the camera.

There are so many cast members to keep up with–24 total–including some familiar faces from the rap world and a few blasts from the past.

Here’s a rundown of the folks we think you should keep your eye on this season:

Trick Daddy is having major issues with his wife who is also Trina’s cousin. She wants a divorce but the rapper isn’t ready to give up on the relationship. Meanwhile, he and Trina are working on a new project together.

Trina was born and raised in Miami and she says we can expect to see her continuing her music career, signing artists and building her dynasty. “I have no patience, I have no tolerance,” she says. “I say what I want and I say what I mean.“

Bobby Lytes is an aspiring rapper who happens to be Trina’s cousin. We can’t tell how tight their family bond is yet, but we can see that this boy will be bringing some serious drama all season long. Expect to see some racey make-out sessions with his boyfriend as well as a few blow outs over infidelity.

Amara La Negra is a 26-year-old Miami native whose Dominican descent is a huge part of her music career. She’s looking to be the next Cardi B but she’s not willing to compromise her personal style or give up her afro to make it big.

Gunplay is a 38-year-old Miami native who says “they think I’m crazy,” but insists he’s working on his temper and will never “fake the funk.” The former Triple C’s member is signed to Rick Ross’ Maybach Music imprint but is battling some serious demons including addiction and violence.

Shay Johnson is back. The former Love & Hip Hop Atlanta star who we watched pine after  Scrappy for years is now in a committed relationship with fellow Miami cast member and former Pretty Ricky frontman, Pleasure P.

Pleasure P is looking to re-launch his music career with the help of his old group, Pretty Ricky. Unfortunately, the reunion doesn’t seem to go as smoothly as fans may hope and we can expect some conflicts to arise between his old group and his new love.
