Parents at a New Jersey academy reportedly pulled their kids out of school because of a surprise visit from First Daughter Ivanka Trump.
On Monday, Trump went to Norwalk Early College Academy, a program where students can study software engineering and earn an associate’s degree along with a high school diploma.
While she was there, she talked up education and learning life skills.
“To see the passion and enthusiasm for bringing real life skills into a classroom environment but then coupling it with real life experience through internship creates this really beautiful virtuous angle,” Trump said.

Parents didn’t know
Because of security concerns, the school didn’t tell parents about the upcoming visit.
And, according to News 12 New Jersey, that didn’t sit well with a lot of parents. Several parents took their children home in protest of the visit.
“This should have been brought to our attention, although I do understand security reasons,” one angry parent said. “I think we should have had the choice to send our child to school or keep them home.”
