A white woman in South Carolina was arrested after chasing a Black man around with a hammer and yelling racial slurs at him.

The woman, 38-year-old Sara Ann Morey, chased the man around a motel early on Tuesday morning. A manager at the Sand Dollar Motel in Myrtle Beach woke up to the sounds of the assault, which was captured on surveillance.

“Police reviewed surveillance footage in the area and said they saw Morey, who is listed in the report as white, continuously pursue a 38-year-old black man around the outside of the motel,” Myrtle Beach Online reported.

The Black man escaped relatively uninjured, despite the fact that Morey “threw a plastic ash tray at the man, hit him repeatedly and struck him twice with a plastic chair.” While she threw things at him and hurled insults his way, he was on the phone calling police.

When police arrived, they arrested Morey and hit her with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct charges.

Morey is no stranger to the law, either. Back in 2015, she was arrested for entering a private residence and refusing to leave. Then, last year, she was arrested for public intoxication, disorderly conduct and driving with an open container of alcohol.
