Trump supporter Stephen Baldwin believes his brother, Alec Baldwin, will vote for Donald Trump in 2020 because of the new tax cuts.

Stephen and Alec’s relationship nearly fell apart over Stephen’s support of Trump. After Trump’s win, Stephen all but called Alec, a Democrat now famous for playing Trump on Saturday Night Live, a sore loser.

But now, Stephen believes that’s about to change.

The Republican tax plan

According to Stephen, the tax plan just passed by the Republican Congress will sway people who doubted Trump before. In particular, Stephen believes his brother will get on board the Trump plan.

“There’s a large constituency in Hollywood who voted for Trump but will never admit to that. And I’m calling it now: With the amount of money Alec is going to make with this new tax cut I bet he votes for Trump for re-election. Just saying!” he told The Hollywood Reporter.

But Alec spoke out against the tax plan in November and lamented the fact that Trump had “betrayed” his voters.

“I think the Trump voters have far more important things to put their focus on (than SNL). And their inability to put their focus on that is their problem to deal with, and that is that Trump has betrayed nearly every promise he has made to them. The tax bill is just the most recent example of how Trump just continues to betray the middle class in this country and his supporters,” he told PBS.

“Listen, these people were sold one thing. They were kind of sold that Trump was this can-do, crack executive that he portrayed on a reality show for many years. But what they were really sold on was to really hate Hillary Clinton. The vote for Trump was to express your hatred.”

That doesn’t exactly sound like someone ready to throw their support behind Trump, but hey, Stephen can dream.
