Eric Trump doesn’t think his father is a racist.

Surprising absolutely no one, Donald Trump’s son appeared on “Fox & Friends” and defended the president against accusations of racism in the wake of recent revelations that Trump referred to African nations and Haiti as “shithole countries.”

But Eric Trump insisted that it’s not a race thing. It’s an economic thing.

“My father sees one color: green,” Eric Trump said. “That is all he cares about. He cares about the economy. He does not see race. He is the least racist person I ever met in my entire life. It is total nonsense.”

“They stoop very, very low”

In the interview, Eric Trump blasted the media for reporting negative things about his father instead of reporting on his positive achievements.

“At the same time they are saying that, they will never report that African-American unemployment is the lowest its ever been in this country,” Eric Trump continued. “They won’t give him any credit for that. And by the way, he campaigned on that. And they’ll go out and call him a racist.”

He went on to fall back on the usual argument of bashing the media for being biased and blasted the Democrats for not having a message beyond being against Trump.

“It’s very sad. It’s a race to the bottom,” he said. “They stoop very, very low. The reason they do that is they don’t have their own message. What is the message on the Democratic side right now? I mean, who are the frontrunners? What do they stand for?”

“They don’t stand for anything. They have been obstructionists.”

The interview comes in the wake of a wave of backlash over Trump’s reported comments during a meeting about immigration. In the meeting, Trump reportedly asked why anyone would want Haitians to immigrate to the United States and said that he would prefer immigrants from Norway.
