David Joyner, the man who played Barney the Dinosaur, has made a showing new career move.

According to People.com, Joyner now owns a tantric massage practice.

Joyner, who wore the Barney costume and brought joy to the character of Barney from 1991 to 2001, recently sat down with Vice to talk about his tantric practice. His 30 clients, whom he calls “goddesses,” pay $350 a session to learn how to release energy and balance their chakras.

While the tantric approach is best known as a meditative sexual healing practice, Joyner said that it had actually helped him when he was wearing a costume that weighed 70 lbs. and could sometimes reach up to 120 degrees.

“A lot of the elements of Barney were a lot of the things I was training with in tantra,” he said.

He then added, “I always said it was never an accident, and that I was meant to do this character.”

“The energy I brought up [while] in the costume is based on the foundation of tantra, which is love. Everything stems, grows, and evolves from love,” he went on to say.

While Joyner continued his acting career after “Barney” with such shows as That ’70s Show and The Young and the Restless, he admits that “Barney” will always have a special place in his heart.

“Barney was beautiful,” he told Business Insider in June. “Barney was very, very good to me. I loved being Barney. I loved everything about being Barney. But that chapter is gone.”

“I love you; you love me”

Joyner’s new job may come as a surprise to many of us, but to “Barney” head writer Stephen White, who wrote for the show from 1992 to 2005, it’s simply an extension of who Joyner is.

“I did know David was a very spiritual guy, very positive guy—he radiated energy. He was a positive person to be around,” White recalled.

“I thought it was an interesting transition for Barney. It’s kind of still the ‘I love you, you love me’ deal, but different.”
