Blue Ivy may only be six years old, but she is already an awards show vet and during Sunday night’s Grammy Awards, she reminded her parents Beyoncé and Jay-Z of proper etiquette on such occasions.

Seemingly bothered by her parents clapping for Camila Cabello‘s speech, little girl Blue motioned for each of her parents to settle down. No doubt her parents have told her about the importance of being still and quiet when someone is speaking. Blue, who is now a big sister to twins and understands a thing or two about responsibility, was perhaps simply reminding her parents to be respectful of Cabello’s time on the stage.

Mini-Fashion

This was not Blue’s first Grammy appearance. Last year, she wore an adorable Prince-inspired pants suit with a ruffled shirt and a sparkly clutch. At that time, Beyoncé was pregnant with Blue’s twin siblings Rumi and Sir.

For this year’s ceremony, Blue opted for an all white frock, in contrast with her parents’ all black attire.

The Knowles-Carter family sat in the front row, a prime location. Jay-Z was nominated for eight Grammys, including Album of the Year, but went home without any hardware.

Repeat of 2017

In 2017, Beyoncé’s heralded Lemonade project lost to Adele‘s 25 for Album of the Year. Adele won in all five categories she was nominated.  At this year’s ceremony, Kendrick Lamar swept the rap categories, taking home four awards for Rap Album of the Year, Best Rap Song, Best Rap Performance, and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration, which was the first televised award of the night.

Bruno Mars took home the Album of the Year top prize for 24k Magic.

Although this is the second year in a row that Blue had to watch her parents not take home an Album of the year award, we’re sure the Knowles-Carter family is just fine. After all, Beyoncé and Jay-z have 42 Grammys between the two of them.

Besides, Jay-Z’s Grammy bust was probably an opportunity for Blue to stress the importance of being gracious in the face of defeat.
