Rain Pryor says Quincy Jones is ‘losing his mind,’ defends father’s legacy
The actress says Quincy Jones is losing his mind and her stepmother's claims are completely off base.
Rain Pryor is upset that Richard Pryor's widow, Jennifer, confirmed Quincy Jones statements about her dad's sexuality and trysts with Marlon Brando.
Rain Pryor isn’t happy about the latest gossip swirling about her father.
She’s particularly upset that Richard Pryor‘s widow, Jennifer, confirming Quincy Jones statements about her dad’s sexuality in a recent Vulture interview saying that the late comedian slept with actor Marlon Brando.
In the interview, Jones claimed, “[Marlon] Brando used to go cha-cha dancing with us. He could dance his a** off. He was the most charming motherf***er you ever met. He’d f*** anything. Anything! He’d f*** a mailbox. James Baldwin. Richard Pryor. Marvin Gaye.”
After the Internet went nuts about the rumor, Pryor’s widow came forward to confirm what family and friends have known for years; yes, he was bisexual and no, he wasn’t ashamed of it.

“It was the ’70s! Drugs were still good, especially Quaaludes. If you did enough cocaine, you’d f*** a radiator and send it flowers in the morning,” said Jennifer.
She also claims that Pryor had been open about his sexuality with his inner-circle and said that he had documented it in diaries. She told TMZ that she had plans to eventually publish those diaries.
Rain defends her father
Rain Pryor, took to social media to refute the rumors and defend her father’s legacy.
“My dad may be the GodFather of comedy, that does not mean he slept with the GodFather #Brando capiche!” she tweeted.
Rain also posted on Facebook to say that while her father’s sexuality is one thing, it’s another thing for Jones to go spreading rumors about people who aren’t around to tell their side.
“Q, was once a brilliant music producer who is losing his mind, and decided to garner publicity for himself with a sensationalized interview; and because y’all think and equate Fame and Money with decency, you ate it up like thirsty dogs, as he spewed out a lie about my father who’s not here to defend himself,” she wrote on Facebook.
“Then on top of it all, my dad’s so-called widow validated it, because she needs to keep legitimizing herself and tarnish our dad even after he’s dead. She hated Q and Daddy,” she added.

In a second post, Rain spoke a little more on her father’s sexuality, recalling how he had dated a trans woman but never treated it as anything sensational.
“However, Daddy did NOT have relations with Brando. There were no trips to his South Pacific Oasis, no flowers or love notes between. Not even a film role,” she insisted.
She went on to say that people should remember that the man whose life and deeds they were sensationalizing was actually a real person and father.
“Bottom line. This man Richard Pryor, is not your Hollyweird scandal performance. He is our Daddy. He is our perfect imperfection. He is our legacy and we are most certainly his. So get a life and focus back on what’s really going on in the world.”
