Idris Elba is officially off the market now that he has proposed to his girlfriend, Sabrina Dhowre, leaving women everywhere wondering about the woman who snagged the man of their dreams.
The actor has been known to keep his personal life private, but that didn’t stop him from initiating a very public proposal. The award-winning actor got down on one knee to pop the question at a screening of his film, Yardie, at the Rio Cinema in London over the weekend.
Now that the news is out, we decided to get to know the mysterious woman who landed the hottest man on the planet.

She’s a beauty queen.
The gorgeous model was crowned Miss Vancouver in 2014. Still, she considers herself the “brains” in her relationship with Elba. “When you’re the brains in the relationship and he’s the beauty,” she posted in December.

She’s not British.
According to reports, Sabrina Dhowre is of Somali descent and was born in the United States, although it seems she has spent most of her time in Vancouver, Canada.
She’s not into sharing her business.
Like her notoriously private fiancee, Idris Elba, Dhowre likes to lay low. The model/actress is not big on social media, (she has only 16 posts on Instagram) and we’re guessing that’s a good thing so that the endless amounts of brokenhearted fans can’t hate on her too hard if it’s not so easy to find her latest Twitter post.
Perhaps she’s changing her social media tune. On Monday, she posted a sweet photo with her future husband along with a loving message.
“Baby! I can’t tell you enough how happy you make me and how lucky I feel to have found a love like this, you make my heart feel so full. I love you. Forever will always feel to short. #imsuchacheeseball @idriselba,” she posted.

She’s younger than her man.
Elba is 45 years old and his soon-to-be wife is only 29 years old. But the 16-year age difference doesn’t seem to be a problem for the happy couple.
She has good timing.
The couple met in Canada while Idris Elba was shooting The Mountain Between Us, a love story co-starring Kate Winslet. “Falling in love while making a movie about falling in love is pretty special,” the actor told PEOPLE. Perhaps Elba’s role in the movie left his heart open to finding love in real life when he came across the beautiful model and actress.
This will be marriage No. 3 for Idris Elba, who was married to makeup artist, Hanne Norgaard, from 1999 to 2003 and lawyer Sonya Hamlin in 2006. He and Norgaard share a 15-year-old daughter and he has a 3-year-old son with his ex girlfriend, Naiyana Garth.
