On Sunday night, moviegoers in New Jersey who had come to see Black Panther were instead upset by a woman who yelled a racial slur during the movie.

Sparta, N.J., Police Lt. John Lamon said that police arrived to the New Vision Sparta Theatre, but only one person could identify the woman who had used the slur. That person declined to sign a complaint.

“She was making loud comments at the screen that upset other patrons,” Lamon said of the woman, who allegedly used the N-word in her comments, according to NJ.com.

According to Lamon, the theater told the woman not to come back to the theater.

“We gave them advice to send her a certified letter not to trespass and to give us a copy,” he said.

The theater also gave the people whose moviegoing experience had been interrupted vouchers so that they could return to see Black Panther at a later date.

Black Panther is the first Black-led superhero film in the expansive Marvel Cinematic Universe and has been shattering records left and right.

Wakanda’s winning streak

Over President’s Day weekend, the film shattered records with a three-day opening of $202 million. Including the holiday, the estimated four-day take is said to be at least $235 million, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

On Thursday night, the movie brought in $25.2 million alone, according to Variety, which is the most a Thursday night preview has ever grossed for a February release. For Marvel, that’s also the second-largest preview gross for all of its films.
