Stacey Dash is Running for Congress

Stacey Dash has officially filed the paperwork to run for Congress in California. The Clueless star is running under the slogan “Dash to DC” for the seat currently occupied by Rep. Nanette Barragán. California’s 44th Congressional District has been a Democratic district since 2012 and includes North Long Beach and Compton.

Bill Cosby‘s 44-year-old daughter Ensa died of renal disease last Friday. Ensa had been a staunch supporter of her father. Ensa once appeared in a season 6 episode of The Cosby Show. The family’s spokesperson issued a statement: “The Cosby family thanks many people for their prayers for their beloved and beautiful Ensa, who recently died from renal disease,”

White Homeowner Who Complained of ‘Hoodlums’ Found Guilty of Murdering Unarmed Black Man

A white man in North Carolina has been sentenced to life in prison after being found guilty of first-degree murder after shooting an unarmed black man. The man called 911 and reported “hoodlums” before he shot 20-year-old Kouren-Rodney Thomas, killing him. The jury spent less than two hours deliberating on Thursday before finding Chad Copley guilty of premeditated murder.

Jay-Z Releases Trailer for new Trayvon Martin Documentary Series

On the sixth anniversary of the tragic death of Trayvon Martin, Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter released the first trailer to his co-produced documentary series about the slain teen. Rest in Power: The Trayvon Martin Story is inspired by the biographical story of young Martin’s life and legacy, written and retold through the eyes of his parents Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin.

 

Disney to Donate $1 Million to STEM education in Wake of ‘Black Panther’ Success

Disney is giving back to the community with a substantial donation to STEM education, following the record-breaking success of Black Panther. The company announced in a press release that it would be donating $1 million to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America to help kids realize their STEM dreams.
