Fox plans to air shocking O.J. Simpson ‘If I Did It’ interview

O.J. Simpson gives his side in resurrected 2006 interview

Fox will air a decade-old interview with O.J. Simpson giving his own account of what might have happened if he killed Nicole Simpson on June 12, 1994.

The special titled: O.J. Simpson: The Lost Confession, was made in 2006 with Judith Regan to promote Simpson’s book, “If I Did it.” The Brown and Goldman families were against the special but now, according to Fox, they are on board and approve its release which will run in tandem with the premiere of ABC’s American Idol.

A tell-all interview

CNN’s Soledad O’Brien will host the special, calling it “in his own words,” and says it “offers a detailed — and disturbing — description of what might have happened on that fateful night of June 12, 1994.”

The former football legend was freed last year after serving nine years for a botched attempt to seize memorabilia that he claimed belonged to him. Simpson was acquitted in 1995 in the killings of his ex-wife and her friend, Ron Goldman.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Rupert Murdoch decided against airing the interview after receiving criticism from the families of Brown and Goldman but now it is reported that the families are on board. There will be PSAs during its limited commercial breaks, about domestic violence according to Variety.

O.J. Simpson: The Lost Confession will air March 11 at 8 p.m., on Fox.
