Petition calling for RCA to drop Chris Brown gains over 50,000 signatures
A petition demanding that RCA records drop Chris Brown from the label has garnered more than 52,000 signatures of its 55,000 goal.
The Care2 petition was started in March after a photo surfaced with Brown’s hands around a woman’s neck. Now, Chris Brown is in the news again after a woman sued him, claiming that the singer raped her while she was trapped in his house.

The petitions reads:
“Brown’s response to the situation was unapologetic and he continues to show no remorse for his actions. He jokes about the situation and claims he was just “playing”. He also said he has, “no need to defend himself” and even thanks the media for publicity. His denial of the situation is really disturbing.
“Brown is a dangerous man with a history of domestic violence and should not be joking about harassing women. In 2009, he brutally assaulted Rihanna and then never went to jail after he got away with a plea deal — sending a horrible message to young men and abuse survivors.
“Rihanna, has even spoken up about the new photos, saying she felt let down by Brown. Telling Hollywood Life, “It’s just a bad look — period.” After everything they went through, she’s disappointed that he’d even “play around like that.”
“Brown’s dangerous history of violence against women has gone ignored for far too long. Brown is a threat to women and needs to be held accountable for his actions. Tell RCA Records to stop supporting a domestic abuser and drop Chris Brown immediately.”
An update on the site reads:
“Chris Brown was involved in another abusive episode. A woman has sued Chris Brown after being raped at his home. She was given drugs, had her phone taken away, and then assaulted by guests at Chris Brown’s home while he was there. We need to keep demanding this man is dropped from his record label. He doesn’t deserve professional success.”
