Kim Kardashian West fired off a round of tweets Saturday aimed toward Rhymefest in defense of her husband Kanye West after the songwriter and activist claimed that ‘Ye abandoned his hometown of Chicago.
After rappers Drake and Pusha-T exchanged diss tracks Friday (“Infrared” and “Duppy Freestyle”), Rhymefest saw it as an opportunity to call out Kanye over his alleged lack of involvement with Donda’s House, a nonprofit created to honor the legacy of ‘Ye’s mother, Dr. Donda West, who died in 2007. Donda’s House was co-founded by Kanye and Rhymefest 10 years ago.
On Saturday morning, Rhymefest tweeted, “@DRAKE when G.O.O.D. Music sends the money they owe you, will you please help us rebuild Kanye’s mother’s house for the youth of Chicago. I spoke to Kanye about it. His response was ‘fuck the youth of Chicago.’”
I’m asking @Drake to help the part of Chicago Kanye has Abandoned! Please contact @DondasHouse

This tweet didn’t sit well with Mrs. Kardashian West, who fired back with a long string of her own tweets.
“U haven’t been right since u got kicked out of the studio in Hawaii wearing fake Yeezy’s @RHYMEFEST,” she wrote. “You’re over levergenging Kanye’s name & asked Kanye to donate money to u so stop w your fake community politics & lies. Truth is you haven’t been able to sustain the foundation.”

But she didn’t stop there. Next, the reality TV queen tweeted, “I saw you at our studio a few weeks ago so why didn’t you bring this up then @RHYMEFEST. You were trying to get Kanye to listen to your sub par beats. You have the audacity to use Kanye’s mom name to try to shead a negative light on Kanye.”
The mother of three later apologized to her 60 million followers for flooding her time with Rhymefest, suggesting that they had “no idea” who he is.

The clap back to the clap back
Rhymefest, who co-wrote ‘Ye’s megahit, “Jesus Walks,” immediately issued a lengthy statement as a response to Kim’s tweets. Part of his statement read: “I don’t care if no one on your timeline knows who I am,” he wrote. “The people in my community and in my city do, and that’s what truly matters to me. Your husband and I have been in correspondence for the last two months, which as you stated, even you saw me in the studio recently.”

In recent months, Kanye has been criticized for praising Donald Trump and suggesting that slavery was a choice. Donda’s House worried that the controversy would have a negative impact on the organization. Before midnight, Donda’s House issued their own statement saying that the organization will no longer use the name Donda’s House Inc.
“Over the last five years we have put our students and our community first. We’d like to thank all our supports, and we assure you that our hearts have always been with the City of Chicago and we will continue to support youth in our future endeavors. We encourage Kim and Kanye to indeed pick up the baton of service.”
