VIDEO: Adorable Black boy captures the heart of the internet by helping elderly woman up the stairs
A young Black boy’s chivalrous act has captured the heart of social media after he helped an elderly woman up the stairs.
Eight-year-old Maurice Adams Jr. wasn’t looking for page likes or to stunt for the ‘gram. He just wanted to be a gentleman and give a helping hand to a woman who looked like she needed it after walking across a busy Milledgeville Georgia road, reports WSBTV.
An onlooker Riley Duncan, whipped out his cell phone and recorded the act of kindness. He saw Adams emerge from a car and latch on to the old lady to give her a little boost.
His mother, Contricia Hill, said the good deed was all her son’s idea. She told the news station after leaving her daughter’s graduation, they saw the woman crossing a busy street and that’s when Adams asked:
“Can I go out there and help her up the steps?” Hill said.
And Maurice Adams Jr did just that. He cupped the lady’s arm and slowly and steadily helped guide her to the top of the stairs. The grateful woman hugged Adams and they all went their separate ways. Hill and Adams didn’t know anyone was recording his simple act of kindness.
Hill said she’s a proud momma.
“It’s touching. It’s very touching,” she said. “(It just shows) respect and raising your kids right goes a long way.”
The little do-gooder even touched the woman’s heart.
“She told him that he’s special,” Hill said.
