Meghan Markle’s mom, Doria Ragland finally dishes on her favorite part of the royal wedding
The Duchess of Sussex's mother admits that aside from watching her daughter marry Prince Harry meeting Queen Elizabeth II was her pick for highlight of the event.
Meghan Markle‘s mother Doria Ragland is out here living her best life.
Weeks after Markle, the new Duchess of Sussex, married Prince Harry, Mama Doria revealed her favorite moment from the wedding.
“Doria is saying the biggest highlight of the wedding, of course after watching her daughter say ‘I do’ to the man she loves, was meeting the Queen,” a source tells US Weekly.“It would have been extremely intimidating for anyone, but Meghan and Harry really did a marvelous job of preparing her [with] what to expect.”
At 61, Ragland was the only family member from Markle’s family to attend the ceremony in Windsor. Her father, Thomas Markle, reportedly underwent heart surgery a few days leading up to the big day.
Doria was seen chatting to Prince Charles inside the chapel and then posed outside with other members of the family including the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, according to the U.K.’s Daily Mail.
When Markle’s father pulled out of the wedding, many folks speculated that Ragland, a mental health professional and yoga instructor, would walk her daughter down the aisle.
Instead, Prince Charles came to the rescue as Ragland tearfully watched on from her seat in St. George’s Chapel.
Since the wedding, rumors circulated that media mogul Oprah Winfrey has secured the first sit down televised interview with Ragland. Winfrey, who was amongst the dozens of stars who attended the wedding, reportedly spent six hours with the Duchess’ mother to prepare for their talk, reports The Grio.
Days after the royal wedding, Kensington Palace announced that Meghan Markle received her very own customized coat of arms, adding that Britain’s Queen Elizabeth approved the design to ensure that the crest was “both personal and representative.”
Last month, The Grio reported that the Queen Elizabeth II ordered six months of royal lessons for the former Suits actress.
