A 25-year-old man who pretended to be a teen and enrolled at a Dallas high school so he could play basketball, now faces a new charge for dating an underaged student, CBS reports.

Sidney Bouvier Gilstrap-Portley posed as a 17-year-old student who was forced to relocate to Dallas because of Hurricane Harvey. He got enrolled through the cracks because of the allowances set up for disaster victims. Gilstrap-Portley first enrolled in Skyline High School and later moved to Hillcrest High School, where he joined the basketball team. At Hillcrest he pretended to be 17-year-old Rashun Richardson. It was all a lie to fulfill his hoop dreams.

As this grown man balled on 15-year-olds a decade his junior, he also received free school supplies and clothing because he was allegedly a displaced student who lost everything in the storm. He lied repeatedly in order to receive those items and due to those lies, Gilstrap-Portley was initially charged with tampering with government records.

New Charges

Now that information has surfaced that he allegedly dated  a 14-year-old girl at the high school, Gilstrap-Portley has also been charged with indecency with a child.

According to USA Today, the charges stem from reports that he kissed and fondled the teenager’s breasts. Court affidavits indicate that his relationship with the 14-year-old never included intercourse. A former girlfriend of Gilstrap-Portley, with whom he has a child, said in her affidavit that she knew he was pretending to be a high school student to relive his basketball glory days, but was unaware of any romantic relationships with his fellow students.

Court documents note that Gilstrap-Portley was released Friday on bond on the new charge.
