Looks like NBA legend, Kevin Garnett will be a single man again soon.
His wife, Brandi Padilla, filed for divorce from the former NBA star on Thursday after fourteen years of marriage.
According to reports, she cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split and is seeking spousal support. The couple shares two daughters, aged 5 and 10, and Padilla is seeking physical custody of the kids and wants Garnett to get visitation rights.
The couple dated for years before tying the knot in 2004. Let’s hope this split stays relatively amicable.
Kevin Garnett spent 21 seasons playing professional basketball and won a championship with the Boston Celtics in 2008 and even nabbed an MVP Award. In 2013, Garnett scored the 25,000th point of his career, making him the 16th person in NBA history to every score that many points.
The illustrious 25,000 point club includes the likes of Michael Jordan, Shaquille O’Neal, Kobe Bryant, Wilt Chamberlain, Karl Malone, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
According to NBC Sports, Garnett is “the only player in history to have at least 25,000 points, 10,000 rebounds, 5,000 assists, 1,500 blocks, and 1,500 steals over the course of his career.”
He retired in 2016.
