At least 12 people were hurt in Atlanta Sunday when a disturbance forced rapper Lil’ Wayne to cut short his performance at the AC3 music festival, according to multiple reports.

Unfounded reports of shots fired also helped set off the disturbance, that ignited shortly into the rapper’s set, according to Variety.

Police released a statement published on the Variety website.

“It appears someone in the crowd at the event located in the area of Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. and Central Ave. yelled that they heard gunshots,” the statement read. “This caused people at the event to flee the location. At this time we haven’t been able to locate any evidence that support claims that shots were fired.

Social media video showed the chaotic scene, and TMZ published video of a stretcher being carried out of the venue.

The police department told People in a statement that the injuries were minor.

“There have been approximately twelve minor injuries reported to police such as ankle injuries and lacerations from attempting to jump fences,” the statement read.

One Twitter user confirmed that there were no gunshots but that escalating fear led to the chaos.

Fans on Twitter described the chaos.

The AC3 festival ran Wednesday through Sunday and featured three stages of live music.
