Azealia Banks, Lana Del Rey get into Twitter scrap over Kanye West

The rapper and singer are at odds over Banks' responses on West's now-deleted Twitter account

Rapper Azealia Banks and singer Lana Del Rey are feuding via Twitter over a comment the singer made to Kanye West’s Twitter account criticizing his support of President Trump.

The back-and-forth started last month. Ignited after West posted a tweet showing him wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat with the post, “This represents good and America becoming whole again.”

Del Rey responded, “Trump becoming our president was a loss for the country but your support of him is a loss for the culture. I can only assume you relate to his personality on some level. Delusions of Grandeur, extreme issues of narcissism – none of which would be a talking point if we weren’t speaking about the man leading our country.”

The singer continued, “If you think it’s alright to support someone who believes it’s OK to grab a woman by the p—- just because he’s famous – then you need an intervention as much as he does – something so many narcissists will never get because there just isn’t enough help for the issue.”

West has since deleted his Twitter and Instagram accounts, but not before Banks saw the comments from Del Rey. Banks called Del Rey out for alleged racism and for practicing a double standard.

“Wow okay Lana,” Banks wrote. “This would be cute if you were consistent with your outrage and regused to collab with ASAP rocky who has physically assaulted women too,” she said, referring to the rapper ASAP Rocky, who was charged with misdemeanor simple assault in 2013 in Philadelphia after being accused of slapping a female fan.

Banks continued, “To me this just looks like the typical White woman taking using a weakened target to ‘pretend’ to be an ally.”

Under her @SHOPCHEAPYXO handle, Banks continued, “You approve of ASAP rocky because his victims weren’t white.” She added, “You would never in your white mind try to battle ME on my ideas … I suggest you apologize to Kanye for trying to selectively make him complicit in 45’s abuse of women simple for agreeing with parts of his ideology while you frolic through society with other black male abusers.”

Del Rey shot back, “U know the addy. Pull up anytime. Say it to my face. But if I were you- I wouldn’t.”

Del Rey also tweeted:

The exchanges went on to involve more threats and insults, with fans jumping in too. West has not commented.
