Use it or lose it. It’s the newest policy that’ll make or break the Governor’s race in Georgia.
There’s been a lot of controversy over the voting law implemented in the Southern state, as 107,000 people have been purged from the voting roll.
The ‘Use it or Lose it’ policy, while allegedly intended to prevent voter fraud, has been condemned as a method to suppress voters’ rights.
Most of those targeted by this new policy are young low-income African-Americans who were expected to vote Democrat in the upcoming midterm election.
This upcoming November, thousands of Georgian residents will go to their voting polls, only to be turned away for not voting the past 3 years.
And, of course, President Trump had some thoughts of his own about the Georgia race.
“Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp will be a great governor. He has been successful at whatever he has done, and has prepared for this very difficult and complex job for many years. He has my Strong Endorsement. His opponent is totally unqualified. Would destroy a great state!”
Totally unqualified? Nah. We beg to differ.
As those of us who’ve been following know, the candidate running opposite Brian Kemp is Stacey Abrams, a minority leader in the house of representatives.
If elected, she will be the first black woman in US history to be elected to the governor’s office.
Meanwhile, in Mississippi, 26-year-old, Jeramey Anderson, will be running to represent Mississippi’s 4th Congressional District in the US House of representatives.
Even with Mississippi residing strongly on confederate roots, Anderson still pushes forward with his campaign slogan, “Restoring Hope”, an homage to his idol and forever POTUS, President Barack Obama.
