Bill Cosby gets trial date for Playboy mansion assault case

Bill Cosby still has an assault case on the books that he has to battle.

Florida’s partisan recount battle goes back to court

A judge has ordered a trial date for the disgraced star for a 1974 assault case involving a 15-year-old girl, Judy Huth, who claimed Cosby molested her at the Playboy mansion.

On Tuesday in Santa Monica, LA Superior CourtJudge Craig Kaplan determined that Cosby, who is already serving time after getting convicted of rape, now has to go to trial in the Huth case on October 7, 2019, Deadline reports.

Earlier this year, Judge Steven O’Neill sentenced the disgraced comedian to three to 10 years in state prison for drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand. He is also now classified as a sexually violent predator and will be listed on the sex offender registry.

However, as one case closed, more opened up.

Huth made allegations that Cosby assaulted her as a teen while at the famous Playboy Mansion, once owned by deceased star Hugh Hefner. Even though the statute of limitations is up on the case, Huth could come forth with the claims and file against Cosby because she was a minor.

“Judgement day finally came for Bill Cosby in the criminal case,” Huth’s lawyer Gloria Allred told Deadline after the LASC hearing.

“He was convicted of 3 felonies and was classified as a sexually violent predator,” the activist attorney added. “Now it is time for justice in the civil case for our client, Judy Huth who alleges in her lawsuit that she became the victim of child sexual abuse by Mr. Cosby at the Playboy mansion. We are happy that the court set a trial date of Oct 7, 2019 in our civil case against Mr. Cosby. While he is sitting in prison ,he will have to be concerned that he will not be able to avoid facing a civil jury and judgement day in Santa Monica in Ms. Huth’s case.”

Cosby can’t begin the process of seeking parole in the Constand case until 2021 unless he can find a way to overturn Judge Steven O’Neill’s ruling.

It looks like Cosby’s troubles continue to mount.

During the Constand trial, prosecutors presented a slew of witnesses to convince the jury that the 81-year old Cosby had been a serial predator who has sexually assaulted dozens of women over the years, including Andrea Constand, who accused Cosby of drugging and sexually abusing her in a 2004 encounter. The comedian acknowledges sexual contact took place, but says their interaction was consensual.

The jury in Bill Cosby‘s sexual assault re-trial found the comedian guilty of all counts after deliberating for just two days.
