American Airlines draws applause for kicking off maskless passenger: ‘Just leave. We have flights to get!’
'You can clap all you want, but I'd be embarrassed,' the unidentified passenger says while being escorted off the aircraft
“Karen” strikes again.
A viral video shared earlier this week shows a White lady vacating an American Airlines flight because she refused to wear a face mask. In the video, fellow passengers begin clapping and cheering as she walks off the plane.
The woman, who is unidentified, can be seen taking her bags out of the overhead compartment and under her seat. A passenger can be heard saying: “Can we clap? Can you start the clap, Kendall? Start the clap. Start the clap.”
Once everyone on board began to cheer, the lady turned and said, “You can clap all you want, but I’d be embarrassed.”
In response, another passenger cried out, “Just leave! We have flights to get!”
The video, originally posted to TikTok and reshared on Twitter on Sunday by user @BookofJonah, has been liked and retweeted thousands of times.

According to the Daily Mail, the flight was leaving from Ohio to go to North Carolina. The unidentified woman claimed a medical condition as her reason for not putting on a facial covering, which can help stem the spread of coronavirus.
The woman who took the video, Jordan Slade, stated that the woman was disruptive from the start.
“She was argumentative from the gate. She demanded to be boarded first and was causing an obvious scene,” Slade stated. “Once boarded, she was making phone calls and arguing with the attendant when asked to put her phone away.”
Once on the plane, the woman would not comply with airline rules about masks.
“She also refused to wear a mask putting others on the flight at risk… Another passenger even got up to confront her about her behavior with no mask,” Slade continued.

Slade posted the video to TikTok, a growingly popular social media site, and it has since garnered several re-posts to other social media platforms.
American Airlines issued a statement regarding regulations about wearing masks on its plane in Newsweek, saying it “requires customers to wear a face covering while on board aircraft,” and that they “will deny boarding to customers who don’t comply.”
This is the latest viral account of instances of white people being denied services for not wearing a mask in public amid a deadly global pandemic.
ABC News reported a video of a woman who went on a tirade in a California Trader Joe’s for refusing to put a mask on. She also cited health issues as the reason.
