50 Cent apologizes for mocking Megan Thee Stallion’s shooting
The Queens rapper offers Meg an apology after posting a meme making light of her shooting incident.
After Megan Thee Stallion was injured in a shooting, jokes on the internet came from all corners, including from rapper 50 Cent. Now, he offers an apologetic stance as she continues to recover.
In her first Instagram Live broadcast since the incident, the Houston rapper tearfully opened up about the physical and emotional trauma of being shot in both feet. She also shared how she felt about people offering memes instead of support.
“It’s nothing to joke about. It was nothing for y’all to go make up stories about. I didn’t put my hands on nobody. I didn’t deserve to get shot, I didn’t do sh*t,” she said.
50 Cent, who was a victim of gun violence himself, is one of the people who joked about her experience, only to recently have a change of heart.
“It sounded so crazy @theestallion i’m glad your feeling better and i hope you can accept my apology. I posted a meme that was floating around. I wouldn’t have done that if i knew you was really hurt sorry.,” he writes, sharing a clip of her heartfelt broadcast.
Reality TV star Draya Michele also made light of the incident. theGrio reported that the socialite compared the Houston rapper and the alleged shooter Tory Lanez to Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston, celebrating the violent act as one of love.
Despite their troubling responses, the “Savage” rapper has also received support from her industry peers. Atlanta rapper 21 Savage sent prayers via Twitter.
Wale, a friend and collaborator of the hot girl rapper also shared public love as she continued to heal. “When she ready imma still be here ten toes,” he wrote on Twitter after a fan tagged him in a tweet.
