Tamar Braxton has been released from WE tv after accusing the network of betraying her
WE tv has honored Tamar Braxton’s request to be released from her contract but still intend to move forward with airing her reality television show Get Ya Life! despite her objections.
Braxton and the network have severed ties after the R&B singer accused them of being “excessive and unfair” over their work demands, Variety reported. The outlet obtained an exclusive statement on Friday confirming the split.
“Tamar Braxton has been an important part of our network family for more than a decade. As she focuses on her health and recovery at what is clearly a difficult and personal time, we will work with her representatives to honor her request to end all future work for the network. We wish her nothing but the best,” the WE tv statement read.

Sources told Variety that Braxton will still appear on Season 7 of Braxton Family Values, which also stars her superstar sister, Toni Braxton.
Furthermore, the network will proceed with Tamar’s previously scheduled reality show, Get Ya Life! which is set to premiere on Sept. 10.
Get Ya Life! was originally going to air July 30 but was postponed following Braxton’s suicide attempt on July 16. She was found unresponsive by her boyfriend, David Adefeso, in a Los Angeles Ritz-Carlton hotel and taken to the hospital.
Braxton broke her silence on Thursday and accused WE tv of exploiting her pain in an Instagram post. She claimed the network ignored her cries for help and sought to portray her in a damaging light.

“I was betrayed, taken advantage of, overworked, and underpaid. I wrote a letter over 2 months ago asking to be freed from what I believed was excessive and unfair. I explained in personal detail the demise I was experiencing. My cry for help went totally ignored,” she wrote.
“However the demands persisted. It was my spirit, and my soul that was tainted the most. There are a few things I count on most to be, a good mother, a good daughter, a good partner, a good sister, and a good person.”
Braxton says her focus will now be on healing from her experience. She also hopes to end the stigma attached to mental illness.
“I am learning to grow through my pain instead of looking for an escape. I’m on an irreversible path to healing. I am taking my time,” she posted.
“It is of the utmost importance that I find my happy and health, through professional treatment, for the sake of my whole heart, Logan, who I forgot in my moment of distress and desperation. And giving this journey my undivided attention. My rise will not be in vain.”
