‘RHOP’ star Ashley Darby pregnant with second child
The author-entrepreneur announced her expanding family on Instagram with her husband and their 14-month-old son, Dean Michael Darby.
The Real Housewives of Potomac star Ashley Darby is expecting her second child with husband Michael Darby.
The author and entrepreneur announced her pregnancy on Instagram Tuesday. The couple’s 14-month-old son, Dean Michael Darby, helped them share the news of their expanding family in a video.
In 2014, Ashley married Michael Darby, a real estate investor. The Darbys began appearing on RHOP when the series premiered on Bravo in 2016.
Their pregnancy announcement video starts with an onscreen sentence, “Dean has an announcement to make…” then cuts to an intimate shot of baby Dean wearing a shirt that reads, “I’m Gonna Be a Big Brother.” His parents pose behind him, and Michael’s hand rests on his wife’s belly, signifying their growing new child.
“There’s no hiding this big belly anymore! We are elated to share our news with you! To say we are thankful is an absolute understatement ♥️ #RHOP” wrote Ashley for the caption.
On the 2018 reunion of “RHOP,” the couple spoke about wanting a family. She opened up about having a miscarriage two weeks into her pregnancy. Months later, the couple welcomed their first-child, and Ashley spoke with People Magazine.
According to reports, her husband supported her through the mild postpartum depression she experienced after having Dean.
“I’m overwhelmingly happy,” she told the magazine back in July. “Seeing this little being that was inside my body just a few weeks ago is just mesmerizing for me. It’s so crazy how much he’s changed from when he was first born to even the second week, even more in awe of women and our ability to care so far beyond our own beings.”
Their second child is due February 2021.
The reality show star went on to post several pregnancy photos after their announcement video.
“We sincerely appreciate the love you’ve shown to us – it’s truly been a blessing. It’s like Dean already knows a change is coming because Mommy and Daddy have been getting lots of hugs and kisses. We’re not complaining one bit,” she wrote on Instagram.
