Tory Lanez apologized to Megan Thee Stallion after shooting: ‘I was too drunk’

The Canadian musician reportedly texted the Houston rapper hours after the July 12 altercation.

Tory Lanez apologized to Megan Thee Stallion hours after he allegedly shot her in both her feet in a series of text messages, blaming the incident on him being too drunk, according to TMZ.

The outlet claimed to have seen the text messages that were sent to Megan roughly 15 hours after the July 12 shooting. Tory Lanez begged for his alleged paramour’s forgiveness.

“I know u prolly never gone talk to me again, but I genuinely want u to know I’m sorry from the bottom of my heart,” he allegedly tweeted. “I was just too drunk.”

TMZ reports Lanez never mentioned the word “shooting” or “gun” in his text communications with Megan Thee Stallion. He did, however, express regret for doing the Houston rapper wrong.

“None the less s**t should have never happened and I can’t change what did. I just feel horrible,” he said. “Cuz I genuinely just got too drunk,” the Canadian artist added.

As previously reported by theGrio, Tory Lanez broke his silence on the shooting incident — but not in the way some may have hoped.

Last week, Forbes reported that fans who were upset at the Toronto native for allegedly shooting Meg had boycotted his music, causing his streams to plummet by 40% after she named him as her attacker.

“Tory’s audio streams were consistently in the 20 million to 30 million range since mid-June, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data,” reported the outlet. “However, during the week of August 21, following Megan’s revealing August 20 livestream, Tory’s streams plummeted by nearly 9 million—a 40% drop from the previous week’s 22 million streams.”

After the article was published, Lanez, who has been radio silent for weeks, reached out to HotNewHipHop to refute the claims about his sales while making no mention of the altercation between him and Megan.

“Lmao that’s such a lie. 40% where?!!,” he responded on the publication’s Twitter, then clarified, “I have twenty-seven million monthly listeners on Spotify currently.”
