Beyoncé used lyrics from her song Love On Top to address Lyric in the written message.
“Honey, Honey I can see the stars all the way from here, I can feel the sun whenever you’re near. I was so moved to see how these lyrics inspired you, not nearly as much as you inspired me. I can’t wait to meet you one day and I’m so happy you’re home safely. You are a survivor. God bless, B,” the card read.
“I cannot believe you got flowers from Queen B,” an off-camera adult can be heard saying in the background of the video.
“You know why? Because I’m a queen,” Lyric said in the video. “She [Beyoncé] says ‘I only give things to queens’, and I’m a queen,” Lyric responded with full confidence.
According to her social media bio, Lyric survived brain surgery four times during her continued treatment for anaplastic ependymoma. Although a rare condition, ependymoma is the third most common type of brain tumor found in children St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital detailed on its website. According to the health facility, in the United States, 200 new cases of ependymoma are found in children and adults each year.
A GoFundMe campaign set up in 2018 for Lyric has received a surplus in attention since the video. The latest update provided in July 2019 stated her tumor is inoperable.
