Bailey had previously considered canceling her nuptials, however, she and Hill moved forward with the Oct. 10 ceremony, which featured over 150 guests, at the Governors Towne Club in Acworth, Georgia.

TMZ is reporting that production sources claim Bravo originally planned to film the event when it was planned as an outdoor wedding. However, inclement weather due to the approach of Hurricane Delta forced it indoors.

According to the site, “the indoor venue made the network wary due to COVID-19 concerns, and Bravo decided it wasn’t safe or appropriate to send staff to film with limited space and an expected 181-person guest list.”

Bailey reportedly had her own camera crew at the wedding instead and will provide footage to the network to use on RHOA.

Guests at the wedding were given temperature checks at the door, required to wash their hands upon entering, and they wore masks unless eating or drinking. All guests also had to provide negative COVID-19 test results taken within five days of the wedding.

Talk show host Wendy Williams called Bailey “selfish” for continuing with the event.

“Congratulations to selfish Cynthia and her husband Mike Hill,” Williams said on her Oct. 12 show. “Some guests wore no masks at all, and all I can feel is coughing,”

“Everybody looks beautiful, and the place looks nice, but there was no social distancing, and I’m frightened for all of them,” she added.

Almost all members of the RHOA cast attended the event.

Bailey defended having the large wedding amid the coronavirus pandemic.

“We’re having a large wedding,” she told Extra viewers before the big day. “To be honest, everything that we’re doing for our wedding 10/10/20, we would be doing if we had 50 people there. We would still be doing temperature checks, still be enforcing masks and face shields because, at the end of the day, you can get COVID at any time, regardless of the amount of people that you’re around.”
