Rapper Lil Pump endorses Trump at rally, president calls him ‘Lil Pimp’

At his final campaign rally before 2020’s official Election Day on Nov. 3, President Donald Trump thanked rapper Lil Pump for his recent endorsement. 

Only he called him “Lil Pimp.”

The president’s mistake came, ironically, after the Trump campaign played a video compiling the gaffes of his Democratic challenger, former Vice President Joe Biden

“One of the big superstars of the world, Lil Pimp,” Trump said; he later corrected himself, saying, “Lil Pump. Does everybody know who he is?”

The rapper told the assembled crowd in Grand Rapids, Michigan that he appreciates “everything” the president is doing. “You brought the troops home and are doing the right thing.” 

“MAGA 2020,” said Lil Pump. “Don’t forget that, and do not vote for ‘Sleepy Joe’ at all.”

The rapper, whose record, “Gucci Gang,” was a hit in 2017, has threatened to “move the f**k out” of the country if Trump doesn’t win the election. 

Lil Pump has also made tracks with former Trump supporter and write-in presidential candidate Kanye West. “I Love It,” debuted at number six on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Response to Trump’s gaffe quickly trended on Twitter. 

Activist DeRay McKesson tweeted, “Lil Pimp. I hope that all of these rappers careers tank.” 

Lil Pump joins rapper Lil Wayne, who endorsed President Trump last week, adding to a brief list of urban music artists supporting the incumbent.

Rapper 50 Cent initially tweeted his support for Trump after learning that Biden plans to raise taxes for people who make more than $400,000 annually. He has reportedly since backed off his support. 

Hip-hop icon Ice Cube has been repeatedly blasted for liaising with the Trump campaign about his Contract with Black America. Elements of his document were added into Trump’s Platinum Plan for Black America.

A mix of celebrities have been endorsing both candidates.

One Twitter user declared the difference in support, tweeting, “We got Common, Lady Gaga, 2Chainz, Plies, John Legend, Beyonce, Bad Bunny, Miley Cyrus, Lizzo, Marc Anthony, Lil Jon, Eminem, Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi, Eminem, Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Cardi B, Offset, Justin Timberlake & a whole bunch of others & Trump has ‘Lil Pimp’.”
