A Dawson retweet of his led with pride and gratitude 'that I got to vote for you to represent me and New Jersey.'

Actress Rosario Dawson shared a sweet message of support after her boyfriend, New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker, won his re-election race, returning him to Washington D.C. to represent the Garden State.

“So proud of and grateful for you, my love,” Dawson wrote Wednesday on Instagram.

“I got to vote for you here in New Jersey and am so glad that you overwhelmingly and rightfully won your seat again,” she said. “To know your leadership will continue to guide us with love, brilliance, patience, grace and effectiveness is the kind of representation and hope we need.

She ended the post with “We saw record turnout and need to keep building so that we can win both houses and make real change!”

Dawson wrote the caption under a radiant black and white photo of the couple.

Tuesday night on Twitter, a Dawson retweet of Booker’s thanks screed led with “So proud of you my love and grateful that I got to vote for you to represent me and New Jersey.”

Booker and Dawson have been dating since March 2019.

In June, she appeared at an event in Los Angeles, where, in an interview with director Kevin Smith, Dawson told him she and Booker had been physically separated during the coronavirus pandemic.

She said prior to the pandemic, she and the senator had been planning to live together. The fact that she cast her vote in New Jersey may be an indication that their move is complete.

Dawson also commented under Booker’s Instagram post, where he thanked his supporters.

“New Jersey, I’m once again humbled by the faith you’ve placed in me,” he wrote. “Thank you for standing with me and allowing me the honor of representing our great state in Washington…Our work is far from finished.”

Dawson commented: “Congratulations my love. I’m so grateful for your leadership and your team. We need you.”

In late October, Dawson posted a short video on Twitter clad in a sparkly mask that read “VOTE.” In it, she wrote, “This election is for us & everything we care about: our families, our health, & our futures. We are voting for the people who came before, those here now & the generations to follow. We are voting for the Dream & the country that helps us achieve it.”
