Oneka LaBennett is Associate Professor of American Studies and Ethnicity at the University of Southern California. She has published books and articles on Black girlhood, hip hop, and race/gender formations. Her OpEds and public commentary has appeared in Ms. Magazine, Politico and Black Perspectives.
