High profile artists from Jay-Z to Janet Jackson have publicly supported President Barack Obama’s endorsement of gay marriage. Now, other up and coming artists such as Kendrick Lamar have begun weighing in on the controversial issue. Lamar admits that he supports gay marriage and anything else people choose to do with their own lives. “I don’t give a f**k about people doing what they gotta do. That’s your lifestyle, you dig what I’m saying?” he said. “People gonna be they own individuals and have they own worlds and I can’t knock it.” BET reports:

With President Barack Obama now firmly on the “Pro” side of the gay marriage debate, high profile black artists from Jay-Z to Janet Jackson have been publicly coming forward to express solidarity with the commander-in-chief on the controversial issue. In a recent interview with DJ Drama, rising star Kendrick Lamar expressed in no uncertain terms his belief in the right of gays to marry.

“I don’t give a f*** about people doing what they gotta do. That’s your lifestyle, you dig what I’m saying?” he said. “People gonna be they own individuals and have they own worlds and I can’t knock it.”

Kendrick said he would no more knock someone for not sharing his sexual orientation than he would for not sharing his religious beliefs.
