'It all belongs to God': Pastor preaches women don't have rights to their bodies

An Arkansas pastor is preaching that a woman has no “right over her own body” — even when it comes to abortions — because it is owned by God.

Sunday, Jeff Crawford, a pastor for Cross Church, warned his congregation about the dangers of having “theological dualism” when it comes to how they think about their spirit versus how they treat their bodies.

“Our soul and our spirit is uniquely linked to our body,” he says.”They cannot be separated. This idea that you hear about in the abortion debate that it’s a woman’s right to choose and she has the right over her own body: no, that’s not true.”

“Your body’s a temple to the Holy Spirit,” Crawford continues. “And what that means is that your arms and your legs and your head and your eyes — it all belongs to God.”

Some believe that Crawford’s assertions grossly oversimplify what is a very complicated issue, while others completely support his assessment.
