Winfrey recalled the way she felt on election night when Obama won the presidency.

“I was feeling like, this actually happened.” I looked over and saw Rev. [Jesse] Jackson and started thinking about what he was feeling. I was thinking of him on the balcony with Dr. Martin Luther King and then him seeing this,” she said.

Oprah was then asked about her founding of the OWN network. She is the first person to have a network named after herself. When asked why she decided to start OWN instead of retiring and traveling, she replied, “I love the platform for sharing ideas as information and I think the landscape is not good out there for television and I want it to continue to be a force for good.”
