In an exclusive interview with theurbandaily.com and News One, Hip-Hop producer Pete Rock opened up about the events on the night of his album release party.

On Tuesday he and the rap group Smif-N-Wessun along with numerous fans came together to celebrate the release of their album ‘Monumental.’ The NYPD soon came to calm the crowd, and ended up using violence to control what they deemed was an unruly gathering.

However, eyewitness testimony and cell phone video tell a very different story. Pete Rock’s wife Shara Mchayle, their daughter Jade and several other patrons suffered injuries at hands of the police. Jade was arrested and detained in handcuffs overnight for trying to protect her mother from aggressive officers.
