One protester says he was in awe at the NYPD’s brutal attacks on civilians this weekend.
This past Saturday, Occupy Wall Street was kicked up a notch. Police were pushing and beating protesters in attempt to contain the crowd.
An Iraq war veteran, Sergeant Shemar Thomas, spoke out against police questioning their motives behind beating unarmed U.S. citizens.

“This is not a war zone,” Thomas yelled. “They don’t have guns. Why are you hurting these people?”
Thomas, who served fourteen years in Iraq said, “There is no honor in this.” He said that even during a riot in Iraq, citizens weren’t treated as bad as the unarmed Americans in New York City.
Police made no attempt to quiet Thomas as he shamed their behavior.
After taking his stand on Wall Street, Thomas posted a letter online stating that he is, “not anti-NYPD,” just anti the abuse of power. He said, “There is an obvious problem in the country and peaceful people should be allowed to protest without brutality.”
