Rapper Erick Sermon denies gay accusations in VLAD TV interview

In a recent interview with VLAD TV, rapper Erick Sermon denies accusations that he’s worked with, or is himself a “gay rapper,” saying that these are old rumors sparked by television host and radio personality Wendy Williams years ago. He doesn’t get defensive or visibly upset, but there is something off about his body language.

The interviewer asks Sermon if he thinks there will even be an out gay rapper, to which he responds, “It’s the same when you talk about sports players too. We don’t know if that’s ever gonna happen because its like a curse, to be in sports and be gay, to be in hip hop and be gay. You can’t be rapping and be homo — ni**as will kill you.”

When asked about the rumors of his own homosexuality, Sermon said those rumors were false and were started by talk show host Wendy Williams some 13 years ago.
